With his wife, Shelane and others, Len organized a dynamic group of speakers and ran a smooth schedule of presentations. Seventy-five industry representatives watched our film with deep appreciation. Marc and Hugh met many of them, forging what we hope will be lasting relationships.
After viewing the film prior to the Conference, Len wrote: “Thank you sincerely for producing and sharing this most entertaining and informative feature. I absolutely loved it… I feel as if now I know Mr. Baekeland on an almost personal level.
“After twenty-five years focused on thermoset and thermoplastic materials, this detailed and touching reflection was most edifying. A must see for any serious plastics professional. Bravo!!”
To kick off the first day, Russell Broome, senior director of business development at PLASTICS Industry Association (formerly SPI) spoke eloquently about the mission and goals of his organization.
We thank Russ for continuing to be a treasured champion of our film.
At several points during the Conference, Russ, Marc and Hugh shared some potent ideas for the future.
Initiated by the Society of Plastics Engineers, proceeds generated from the Conference will go towards building a thermoset curriculum for students in polymer studies at UMass Lowell, Massachusetts.
After viewing the display, Randy Lewis of Titan Advanced Composites commented: “This brings a tear to my eye.”
